BRINGING FAMILYS CLOSER TOGETHER
As a future nonprofit, Wild West Events will channel profits into youth scholarships, supporting education and opportunity across the Midwest.
Wild West Events is cultivating robust equestrian programs to inspire growth, connection, and well-being for participants of all ages.
Our passion is a tailored therapeutic riding program for individuals with Down syndrome, harnessing horses’ rhythmic movement to enhance balance, coordination, and strength. Beyond physical gains, participants build confidence, self-esteem, and social skills through horse interaction and support from instructors and volunteers. The horses’ calm presence fosters emotional comfort, with activities customized to each rider’s needs for a safe, enriching experience.
This program offers a path to self-discovery and healing for young adults facing anxiety, depression, or trauma. By fostering trust and empathy through horse partnerships, participants engage in groundwork (leading, grooming) and optional riding, guided by equine specialists and therapists. Reflection on these interactions builds coping skills, confidence, and relationships, enhanced by mindfulness practices that promote calm and self-awareness.
Our youth program blends horsemanship, rodeo events, and Western heritage with leadership and community service. Activities include clinics, rodeo workshops, ranching simulations, campfire tales of Western legends, and projects supporting local agriculture. With access to equipment and resources, campers develop practical skills and a sense of responsibility rooted in Midwest values.
Theory sessions deepen equine understanding through equine psychology, communication, and training principles. Topics cover herd dynamics, body language, biomechanics, nutrition, and hoof care. This classroom-style setting encourages questions and discussion, equipping participants with the knowledge to strengthen horse partnerships, applied in hands-on practice for responsible horsemanship.
